Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Carolyn Fahrner, also known as Junebug, releases a new single "Therapy." Written by Fahrner and produced by Allen Tate, "Therapy" is a personal exploration of uncertainty, self-doubt, and the complex ways people can turn their own thoughts against themselves. Written just after graduating from college, the song captures a time when Fahrner wasn't sure what came next, turning that uncertainty into an intimate musical confession.
What makes the track human, though, is the gap between the writer and the person she is now. Fahrner doesn't deny that earlier version of herself, she approaches it with empathy. "Therapy" captures a specific emotional chapter, keeping the ambiguity while giving listeners a sense of where it comes from.
The song tackles impostor syndrome, chronic people-pleasing, and the tendency to over label personal issues. Those themes give "Therapy" a reflective quality, but its appeal comes from how recognizable those feelings can be. "Therapy" is a way to look back, grow, understand, and know that even our most uncertain selves deserve compassion.
