BAHAMAS finds a peaceful detour with new release "I'm Still"

Canadian singer-songwriter Afie Jurvanen, also known as Bahamas, takes a smooth detour from the expected with his latest release, "I'm Still." The new track comes with a music video and offers a peaceful moment from his upcoming sixth studio album, "BOOTCUT".

"I'm Still" was written by Bahamas and produced by Robbie Lackritz and Dan Knobler; it's a peculiarity within the wider sound of the upcoming record. Many of the songs on BOOTCUT were written and performed with a strong country influence, but this latest offering moves into a distinctly different space, embracing the warmth and character of retro R&B.

At the core of the track is a funky guitar riff that provides the arrangement with its groove, comfortably behind Bahamas's laid-back vocal cadence. The performance has a looseness about it that lets the song breathe, creating a relaxed vibe without losing its peaceful edge.

The visual complement, directed by Jason Levangie, maintains that same unhurried spirit. The video is Jurvanen walking at a relaxed pace along the High Head Trail and the lovely coast of Blandford, Nova Scotia, alone. The simplicity of the setting matches the track's relaxed energy, letting the music and the landscape share the limelight.
