Air Jordan 5 "Halloween" To Drop Early October With A Glow-In-The-Dark Twist

In time for the spooky season, the Air Jordan 5 "Halloween" is coming a bit earlier than expected as Jordan Brand has bumped up the release date to October 17. The upcoming release, priced at $215, is scheduled to drop just two weeks before Halloween, giving sneaker fans plenty of time to add the seasonal pair to their plans.

The Air Jordan 5 "Halloween" comes with a relatively subdued look at first glance. The sneaker has a primarily black look, with a soft suede upper and black mesh sides. It's a common approach for the Air Jordan 5, but the theme is much more obvious when the lights go out. Each tongue features glowing green Jumpman branding, while the "23" detailing near the heel also glows green. The Nike Air logo on the back also glows, making the otherwise dark sneaker look completely different in low light.

The translucent outsole carries the theme forward with its own green glow. The glow-in-the-dark treatment adds a little something extra to the pair while keeping the overall design something that can be worn outside of the holiday itself. The "Halloween" Air Jordan 5 will be a general release and will be available in full family sizing. The pairs will be available via SNKRS and select retailers like Foot Locker, Finish Line, and Hibbett. The release's style code is HQ7978-001.

The sneaker was originally scheduled to drop on October 24, but Jordan Brand moved the release up by a week. The new October 17 date puts the duo smack dab in the middle of the Halloween build-up and gives buyers an earlier shot at copping the seasonal colorway. The release also adds to what's been a strong 2026 for the Air Jordan 5. The Undefeated and Wolf Grey colorways have already generated plenty of chatter, and the Halloween edition is carrying the torch with a seasonal design.

The silhouette already rocks a distinct edge, thanks to the Air Jordan 5's shark-tooth detailing on the midsole, which was inspired by the look of World War II fighter planes, designed by Tinker Hatfield. That established design gets another visual element with the glowing outsole. Jordan fans have another notable October release to look forward to, as the Air Jordan 14 "Forest Green" is scheduled to drop on October 31. The Air Jordan 5 "Halloween" arrives early on October 17, giving you the glow-in-the-dark pair well before Halloween night.
