Whitehall Brings a Ray of Sunshine to an Old Heartbreak on "Shadow of Your Wall"

Brooklyn alt-rockers Whitehall are taking a trip down memory lane with "Shadow of Your Wall," a song that's haunted the band's back catalog since their early dorm-room days. Paddy McKiernan takes on vocals and guitar, while Avery Greeson plays guitar, Brennan Clark plays bass, and Davis Rowe plays drums.

"Shadow of Your Wall" was written by Rowe, Clark, Greeson, and McKiernan, who also produced the track, and has been recorded in many instrumental versions over the years. But the lyrics and melody have stayed the same, keeping the song's emotional heart intact while allowing the band to re-create its musical identity.

"Shadow of Your Wall" is the fastest version of the song yet, creating an interesting contrast between the serious subject matter and the more lively musical character. The track can soundtrack the complicated process of stewing over what went wrong and still feel like a fun listen. "Shadow of Your Wall" shows Whitehall proving that looking back doesn't mean staying there.
