Sophia Amato takes New York energy and turns it into a self-empowerment anthem, "ICONS"

London-based singer-songwriter Sophia Amato has returned with a bold new song, "ICONS," inspired by New York's towering presence. Amato co-wrote the track with Karl Zine and Raphaella Mazaheri-Asadi, and Zine produced it, turning the city's vibe into a multi-angled examination of arrival, individuality, and self-empowerment.

"ICONS" draws its inspiration from the power of New York City buildings and the paradox that icons can also be lonely. From there, Amato builds a musical universe that reflects the city's chaos and density. It's a big song, with jazz horns, synths, vocal stacks, punchy drums, and anthemic parts. The pairing gives a sense of movement and scale that reflects the surging energy of a city with tall buildings and incessant activity.

"ICONS" is a backdrop for something more personal. The track is lush with emotional themes of self-empowerment and arrival, and the layered production brings to life the tension between isolation and belonging. "ICONS" is Sophia Amato's own soundtrack to the city, a one-of-a-kind musical statement that blends urban energy, lush instrumentation, and an empowering perspective.
