SIIGHTS, a two member music duo formed by Mia Fitz from Ireland and Toni Etherson from Scotland, has officially returned with their brand new work Late Nights in Soho. This creation blends in depth reflection and rich emotional tension. The pair independently completed all production and songwriting. For this track, which draws inspiration from their repeated trips to London and is built entirely around poetic text as its creative foundation. In terms of style, they discarded flashy, skill-flexing arrangements and production, as well as overly complex narrative lines.
They rooted their work in authentic emotion to craft a unique texture that is raw yet carefully polished. The work centers on three sets of common, everyday emotional contradictions a searing, profound love that one must learn to let go of loneliness that cannot be relieved even when digital networks constantly surround one, and innate vulnerability that is often misidentified as a weakness.
The unique female perspective that runs through the entire work shapes a female character who carries emotional baggage and moves forward resolutely even as she grapples with unresolved confusion. The pair proves themselves not only outstanding songwriters but also narrators capable of turning complex emotions into content that listeners can tangibly experience.
