HU$H returns today with a deep new cut, "Faith Is Lost," that dives headfirst into the emotional wreckage left by a volatile relationship whose chaos now lingers around them in physical form. It is the aftermath of a decision that was not impetuous but that led its author to choose a path that, in the end, caused emotional and physical harm, with scars left behind.
"Faith Is Lost" depicts a moment when personal choices take an unforeseen turn. After a breakup with a close friend, HU$H's life became embroiled in events that took things further than the emotional violence. A car crash, then a severe injury after a night out, gave physical heft to an emotional cluster-f*; this all formed the dire backdrop against which this song was written.
But the track does not show its personal roots in HU$H from the studio to writing. Writing and producing every aspect of the track himself, it's a perfect example of his creative control throughout his debut album, where he played all instruments and recorded all vocals. That single-handed approach unifies the music into a consistent and intimate vision that grounds it in an authentic source of emotion.
